The Republic of San Marino is a 20-minute drive from Rimini and territorially includes the upper valley of the Ausa stream, the left side of the upper valley of the Marano river and almost the entire valley of the Rio San Marino, a tributary of the Marecchia river .
Since 2008, the historic center of the City of San Marino and Mount Titano have been included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is the oldest Republic in Europe and also the state that, in proportion to its inhabitants, hosts the largest number of visitors, attracted by its historic center with its countless shops, ancient squares, palaces, museums, churches and the medieval houses all in stone that preserve the appearance of the past. On the summit of Monte Titano stand the three Rocche (or fortification towers) linked together with walls and walkways, from where you can enjoy a splendid view.
The Republic of San Marino enjoys a particularly happy geographical position, being in central Italy, a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. The climate is temperate, favored by the hilly morphology. Pollution, smog, chaotic traffic cannot be found in the San Marino area. Attention to safeguarding the environment, the landscape and the quality of life is particularly strong in the population that actively participates in the numerous awareness-raising initiatives carried out by cultural associations. San Marino is just 10 km from the Adriatic coast known as the “Riviera of fun”. And its coast fully deserves this definition for the many attractions that it offers along its sandy beaches, populated by daytime swimmers of all ages and backgrounds and in the evening by the people of the discos.
A very long coast that goes from the Lidi di Comacchio to Cattolica and crosses many municipalities including Cervia, Cesenatico, Igea Marina, Bellaria and the very famous Rimini, Riccione and Milano Marittima. Places that for over 150 years have made it a popular seaside area for the perfect combination of the natural attractions of the area and a tourist industry that is always able to amaze and innovate. Three of the winning cards of the Adriatic coast are certainly the welcoming of a people with an innate sense of hospitality, traditional cuisine with its typical products and the excellent value for money that gives an added value to the holiday.
But it is its one hundred kilometers of equipped bathing establishments, the shops and restaurants on the waterfront, together with an intense nightlife, which make the Adriatic Riviera one of the favorite destinations for those who want to spend a holiday of active life and fun .
